Football starts tonight. The only reason I know that is because my husband has been talking about it for, I don’t know, the past year. Now, I’m not one of those gals that knows all about sports and loves them – sometimes I wish I were but most of the time I’m too content hanging out by the cheese dip and cookies to care about what’s happening in the game (except maybe to ask why they are wearing purple instead of orange and important things like that). The reality is that I know absolutely nothing about football. Nothing at all. In an effort to change this, you know, so that I could be a more fun and supportive wife during football season, I headed to Football Camp in July.

And, ladies, football camp was so fun! We got our picture with The Tiger . . .

Met Coach Dabo (and did NOT pay to get our picture taken with him) . . .

We got to Run Down the Hill and rub Howard’s Rock . . .

Met several of the player on the team, including CJ Spiller – Clemson’s best!

Attended the “training sessions” . . .

… and at that point, it all quickly went down hill (do you not see that diagram? What is that?). They expected me to come in with some sort of football knowledge, I expected to be taught basics such as, “this is a quarterback, he blah blah blah blah blahs.” I needed the football for dummies class and sadly, that was not offered.
So tonight, and this weekend, and the next, I’ll be standing by the cheese dip if you need me.
GOOOOO TEAM!
PS: Michael just asked me if the picture above was at the offensive class or defensive class. Ummmm…..

This made me laugh out loud. Though I LOVE watching football (esp. Clemson), I, too would be asking, “What IS that?!”
how fun! and funny! you get an E for effort
i’d be hanging at the cheese dip too…
I am so proud of you! I didn’t know a football camp for ladies exsisted?! How much fun!
Ha! This made me laugh. I learned some stuff just because I learned that no one would talk to me about the uniforms or anything, so I had to learn about the plays (and believe me, I only know enough to get by), but I do enjoy the cheese dip!!!!!!
Too funny! But what I want to know is….did you find out why they wear orange instead of purple? Why was that one coach wearing pink? Save me room by that cheese dip!!
Save some cheese dip for me!
yeah, I’m not too excited about football season, but I do enjoy asking those random, even annoying questions right in the middle of the game! haha
You totally crack me up!
That was a blast!!! I don’t think you are giving yourself enough credit…,.and who knows what class that was?!

Yeah CJ! At least now we’ll recognize players, right? Probably not, but we’ll cheer a little louder now that we “know” them.
wow! this is a 100% fun!
